Honey Oatmeal Bread

Raise your hand if you LOVE your bread machine!  I do!  Sometimes it'll sit on the pantry floor and stare at me for a few months.  Begging me to pull it out and make something delicious.  Then my low-carb mind goes "Don't you dare!".  It's a constant battle peeps.  It really is.  But when I silence that stubborn part of my mind (lets be honest...I should listen to her more often), I go ahead and pull out the trusty bread machine and make our favorite loaf of bread.  This recipe is sinful.  It's delicious by itself but slap some butter on it and it's delicious!  Go a step farther and toast a piece and THEN butter it...there are no words.  It's a very light textured bread with a crispy crust.  A good, all-purpose bread.

1 cup + 2 tablespoons hot tap water
2 1/2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons butter
2 1/3 cups bread flour (all purpose works too)
1 cup oats
2 tablespoons dry milk
1 tsp. salt
3 teaspoons fast rise or bread machine yeast

To the pan of your bread machine add the water, honey, butter, flour, oats, dry milk, and salt in that order.  Tap the pan to settle the ingredients, then level the ingredients, pushing some of the mixture into the corners.  Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yeast to the well.  Lock the bread pan into the machine.  Program your bread machine for the one-hour setting.  Turn on your machine and let it do its glorious work!  When it's finished, turn off the machine, unlock the pan and remove it with oven mitts.  Shake the bread out of the pan and cool slightly on a cooling rack before slicing.  Enjoy!
