Cream Cheese "Danish"

I call this a "danish" because that's the closest word I can think of to describe this deliciousness.

2 cans crescent rolls
2 (8oz.) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Unroll 1 can crescent rolls and lay in bottom of 9x13 baking dish.  Pinch edges together.  Combine cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and vanilla.  Spread mixture on top of crescent dough.  Unroll 2nd can of crescent rolls and lay on top of cream cheese mixture.  Pinch edges together.  (Don't worry about getting the dough all the way to the edges.  As it bakes, it will come together.)  Pour melted butter on top of dough.  Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.  Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evening over top of melted butter.  Bake 30 minutes or until crust is golden.
This is easily a dessert by itself.  But a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side is yummo too!  It's also awesome for breakfast served plain, with fruit or, my favorite, with some canned cherry pie filling on top.
