Homemade Warm Caramel Sauce

I had no idea how easy it was to make homemade caramel sauce.  I've always used store bought caramel for anything that needed a sweet drizzle...but not no mo!  Here is a list, although not a complete list...'cause I keep finding new things to use it on...for what I like to use it for.  So feel free to leave a comment on any yummy way you've put it to use.

-French toast, pancakes, and waffles, instead of syrup
-Bananas (drizzle over plain bananas, or cut bananas into 2 inch lengths, dip in melted chocolate, then caramel, then roll in chopped peanuts and freeze...wow!)
-Fresh apples, apple pies, apple tarts, apple cakes, apple dumplin's...you get the picture.
-Ice cream
-Coffee
-Hot chocolate
-Cheesecake
-Toast
-Oatmeal
-Pretzels
-Popcorn (drizzle as much as you like over fresh popped popcorn, stir, lick the spoon, pop more popcorn, repeat.  Homemade gift idea, maybe?)
-Rice Krispie Treats
-Drizzled over brownies (then I like to sprinkle the caramel with sea salt...*squeals of excitement!*)

Seriously, leave a comment!  I want to know what you've used it for!  You don't keep secrets like these to yourself!!!

Ingredients:
1 stick of butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons karo syrup

In a medium saucepan, add all ingredients and heat through on medium heat.  Stir the mixture often to ensure the butter melts completely and the brown sugar and karo syrup get nice and evenly incorporated.  Continue to heat until the mixture just starts to boil a little bit.  Remove from heat and enjoy while still warm on your favorite foods.
To store it, I normally stick it in the fridge.  I'm not sure it's necessary that it be refrigerated though.  If you do decide to refrigerate it, don't be shocked when you pull it out and it's rock hard.  Stick it in the microwave for about a minute, stir, and enjoy again.

And during the holidays, grab some cute little mason jars, fill 'em up, make 'em all fancy with some cute little labels and maybe a recipe on the back...what a fun little gift!

It took me time to read all the tips, but I clearly loved the post. It proved to be very helpful to me and I'm certain to all of the commenters here!
